YHIS Summer Camp is the only Chinese Immersion Cultural Camp in the Princeton area, offering children the unique opportunity to learn and effectively use Mandarin in order to obtain an authentic introduction and understanding of the Chinese culture through STEAM. During their time at YHIS Summer Camp, campers gain an astounding level of competency in the language as they interact daily with native Chinese speakers who have a comprehensive understanding of incorporating science, technology, engineering, art and math in a fun way.

At YHIS, STEAM is taught as a way to enhance creativity in learning. For example, math education within STEAM is not just of teaching math, but enabling students to understand how to use math, understand graphs, data in real life, and constantly improve the current way of life. STEAM education is based on practical problems, campers will be encouraged to complete projects through collaboration and practical problem-solving. These processes help campers develop comprehensive literacy and problem solving skills, and have excellent innovation skills.

Chinese Immersion Summer Camp for Ages 3-4.5

IN-PERSON June 28 to July 23, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, $375/week

Campers will discover why and how things happen through a series of virtual hands-on experiments such as push vs pull, float vs. sink, texture, weight and much more. They will be exploring how to use their natural inquiring ability, observing living things, differentiating physical properties of matter and more. The sessions will end with the campers’ sharing information on how they observe things around them.

Chinese Immersion Summer Camp for Ages 5-7

IN-PERSON June 28 to July 16, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm , $375/week

Join us in our whole day camp experience this Summer of 2021. All you need is an open-mind, willingness to take the risk and collaborate to quench your child’s thirst for exploration and learning through different activities while maintaining safe social distancing. YHIS 2021 Summer Camp is carefully designed program ensuring real life interpersonal interaction based on the World-Readiness standards in order to bring camp to life and a fun CHINESE LEARNING and ENGAGING summer experience for your child.

HALF-DAY VIRTUAL July 19 to July 30, 9:00 am to 12 pm, $200/week

All you need is a computer and internet access, snacks, water to quench your child's thirst between activities, and basic recycled household materials for our arts and crafts. A supply list will be shared with parents once you are enrolled and before the engaging camp experience begins. Classes will have a maximum of 6 students to 1 teacher to optimize your child’s learning and engagement. Our well-trained teachers have successfully implemented virtual teaching based on the IB framework and curriculum during the school year. As such, we carefully designed the program to ensure real life fun and interpersonal interaction with your young ones.

English STEAM & Theatrical Workshop for Ages 8-14

IN-PERSON June 28 to July 16, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm , $375/week

From script reading, voice projection, lights and sounds, props design then TICKETS, TICKETS! Sit back and enjoy the show!

Campers split their time between in-class lectures, instructor-supervised workshops, and au- ditioning for and acting in other students’ films. Classes emphasize the practical application of acting technique in film, and include a variety of practices to get the nervousness out, show- ing emotions through voice. Campers develop scenes and monologues for the camera and participate in exercises using body movements. A series of activities to bring out the best in every individual in a fun acting game movement.

Don’t be shy! Stretch your muscles, prior experience with dance or acting is not necessary. In addition, campers will be resourceful and create and improvise their props to make the scene more real be it in comedy or drama. Teachers and campers explore the connections between SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ARTS and MATH, and incorporate new technology into their projects, including theatre design. Gain knowledge about the magic theatrical production and be amazed with the different things that happen in the backstage.
